Coach & Willie’s, a popular sports bar in downtown Phoenix, has opened a second location in downtown Chandler this month.

Andrew McCrossen, operations manager for the restaurant highlighted the success of the downtown Phoenix location as a blueprint for the sports bar in Chandler.

“A lot of customers (who came into Coach & Willie’s in Phoenix) who went to Suns games or Diamondback games live in the East Valley,” McCrossen explained. “These individuals, who would have had to go to downtown Phoenix for Coach & Willie’s now can enjoy the restaurant close to their home in Chandler.”

The new restaurant replicates the design of the Phoenix location, according to McCrossen. The décor consists primarily of mahogany and has a lounge area with leather seats. In addition, in keeping with the sports bar theme, Coach & Willie’s has 31 plasma TVs to show sports games inside of the restaurant.

Cited by McCrossen as a reason to open the restaurant in Chandler, the atmosphere is unique from other bars in the area.

“Coach & Willie’s has a different feel than different restaurants,” McCrossen said. “We really want to bring a four-star atmosphere to downtown Chandler.”

Though many businesses are forced to shut down due to lack of revenue, McCrossen is optimistic about the future of Coach & Willie’s.

“There is a lot of tremendous buzz going around Chandler, a lot of support and inquiries. We are very excited about the future of Chandler,” McCrossen noted.
