At least 20 exhibitors are gearing up for a Health and Wellness Fair at Pecos Senior Center Wednesday, Feb. 29 to cover topics like memory loss, aging and maintaining an active lifestyle.

The information that will be provided at the fair is all geared for those age 60 and above, or those with family members age 60 and above.

Residents are invited to stop in from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and gather information, or come and stay.

There will be opportunities for memory, balance or depression screenings, said Lisa Honebrink, public information officer for the city of Phoenix. There will also be presentations, including Sleep Disorders at 10:30 a.m., and Identity Theft and Internet Scams at noon.

Older adults will be able to sample free classes like Sit and Fit Swing Dance, Tai Chi and a Beading class in the afternoon. After lunch a DJ will get some line dancing going and a Bocce Ball demonstration will take place until 1:30 p.m.

There is no registration required for the event. All classes are drop-in. There will be hotdogs and snacks for sale as a fundraiser by the senior center members. A full schedule of the event in detail will be available at the senior center, 17010 S. 48th St., on Monday, Feb. 27.
