Family VetCare has been healing animals in Ahwatukee Foothills since 1989, and thanks to bargain real estate prices and a loyal customer base, Family VetCare has re-located its Chandler business to a new 6,000-square-foot facility at the corner of Chandler Boulevard and Kyrene Road.

The Ahwatukee Foothills location will remain open at Chandler Boulevard and 40th Street, but residents will also be able to take advantage of amenities at the new location.

“People are stunned by our new hospital and how beautiful and spacious it is,” said Jessica DesLauriers, hospital manager at the Chandler location. “They’re excited to be a part of the new hospital, and they’re all getting tours so they can see what kind of care their pets will be receiving.”

Family VetCare veterinarian Dr. Bill Wodiske credits the clinic’s expansion to the high-quality treatment received by animals at his clinic.

“Our growing customer base in a tough economy shows that we’re on the right track,” Wodiske said. “People are prioritizing right now, but pets are still high on their lists because they are treated like members of the family. The old story of the dog outside in the doghouse is gone.”

Family VetCare has a care credit program that helps its customers get out of tight financial situations when their pets require immediate surgery or treatment.

“We pay for an outside company to extend interest-free credit to our customers,” Wodiske said. “We had one client bring his dog to us all the way from Tucson who had swallowed a rawhide bone. We were able to extend credit to him for the unexpected expense, and now his dog is doing great.”

Good dental health has been proven to extend the lives of dogs and cats, and all Family VetCare locations have state-of-the-art dental suites.

“We’re finding that just as in people dental care in pets is crucial to living a long and healthy life,” Wodiske said. “I think if people walked into one of our dental suites they would think it was nicer than their own dentists’ offices.”

In fact, the vendor Family VetCare uses for its dental equipment provides dental equipment for humans as well.

“We clean the teeth as well as the roots, do restorative dental work and can make filled cavities white instead of silver,” Wodiske said.

February is National Pet Dental Health Month, and Family VetCare has posted dental discounts and incentives on its Web site, www.familyvetcare.com, to make treatment more affordable for its clients. According to Wodiske, the Family VetCare Web site is a valuable resource for pet owners with questions of any kind about their animals.

“We have a complete library with links that describe common problems for pets,” he said.

With the new location in Chandler, Family Vet Care employees will be able to continue their education in animal care.

“We’ve added a new training room at the Chandler location, which will help our staff better identify specific medical problems,” Wodiske said. “We’re always improving our technology with new lasers, monitoring equipment and anesthetic that is similar to what humans receive to better our service.”

Family VetCare’s Ahwatukee Foothills location is at 3908 E. Chandler Blvd. For more information, call (480) 759-9494 or visit www.familyvetcare.com.
