It took all of two seconds for me to lose any enthusiasm for the “Expendables 3,” and an additional three seconds to realize how stupid the additional two-plus more hours of screen time would be. It came from on-screen text to inform the audience the train they’re seeing on screen is an “armored prison transport,” which is made quite clear once star Sylvester Stallone and his compatriots start shooting the heck out of that thing. What that reveals is a supercilious attitude of the audience's ability to decipher the action on screen – a habit the filmmakers fall back on repeatedly – and an overarching inability to do something interesting with staid material.
NO! Tell this message to Pulte and Mr. Gee. Remember, these guys are NOT our friends. They are not trying to “work with us.” They are rolling right over us. They have meetings filled with convenient conversations. This is like petting your cow just before butchering it. NO! I have been around these travesties before and years afterward neighbors are shrugging their shoulders saying, “Gee, we got taken again.” Don’t let it happen to us. They cannot promise a density of homes in our golf fairways until they get final permission from the Phoenix Planning and Zoning Commission.
Recently, while tucking our sweet daughter in bed, she needed some re-assuring as the next day was the first day of school for her after an eventful summer and she was feeling a little trepidation inside.
Women are different from men. Physiologically speaking, hormonal differences begin at conception; sex hormones influence physiologic development through all ages from infancy, puberty, the reproductive years, and continuing for longevity. A man and a woman can both become body builders, but the differences in each one’s musculature, skeletal physiology or neurologic physiology will remain different. The list of physiologic differences can go on, but one of the most interesting new bits of knowledge is the greater understanding that even cardiovascular (having to do with the heart and blood vessels) physiology is different between the male and the female of our species.
To answer Bill Richardson’s two main questions, “Do we keep Democrat Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema to represent us or do we elect someone else?” And, “Are Rogers and Walter the best Republicans can come up with to challenge Sinema in CD 9?”
Many of us would agree that the recipe for a successful business and loyal customers requires a number of key ingredients including product, price, quality, consistency and environment. And, even if this mix is perfect, without great service, a business is at risk of losing customers to its competitors. Quality of service is the most important ingredient.
Thinking about putting your property on the market? In today’s real estate market, buyers are looking for move-in ready homes. For most people, a home is the biggest purchases they’ll ever make. That means they don’t want to spend a lot of money updating and fixing the property as well. “Staging” a home is easy, cost little to no money, and is one of the most effective things you can do to ensure that a buyer makes an offer. Before you put the “For Sale” sign in the front yard, here are a few simple tips to get it looking better than the competition.
Ahwatukee bike shop Cactus Bike, Landis Cyclery, Trek Bicycles of West Phoenix and Bicycles of Phoenix have collaborated together on a free bicycling app. The app, called My City Bikes, was designed to help make a positive change in the health and well-being of Valley residents.
I’ve made a habit lately of studying the Amish. I use the word “study” loosely as this is not a simple curiosity of mine or some kind of theological experiment. My exploration flows out of a deep respect and admiration for their faith and spirituality. We English (that’s what the Amish call us outside their communities) recognize them because of their familiar beards, horse-drawn buggies, fine woodworking, or barn-raisings, but there’s a lot more to this group than sturdy furniture and firm dispositions. They have a lively, vibrant faith despite their archaic lifestyles.
Michele Wenhold waved goodbye to her son in 2004, watched him ride his bike off to school like every other day and about an hour later, she got a call that her perfectly healthy son had suddenly stopped breathing.
I received a mystery package recently, opened it up, and discovered a popular appetite suppressant inside. Sprinkle this magic powder on your food, the included literature instructed, and allegedly it would cooperate with your sense of smell to curb your cravings. And here it was in my hands — a whole box of the stuff. But I didn’t order it.
