Scooby, a 5-year-old Chinese Shar-Pei/Mix, already knows the “sit” and “down” commands and would love to learn more, especially if there are treats involved. Scooby is a pretty big guy right now so lots of daily exercise would be good so that he can be ready for any adventure that comes along. He loves everyone he meets, but some dogs can overwhelm him so please bring any dogs in the home down to meet Scooby. He is neutered and is adoption price is $175.
Maya is a 4 1/2-year-old American Pit Bull/Chinese Shar-Pei mix. She originally came to the Arizona Animal Welfare League on March 1, 2012, and then adopted exactly a month later. She was then returned to AAWL earlier this year when it was found that while she is very social and loves the dog park and other dogs, she isn’t a fan of living in the same home with them. Maya is a very shy girl and it takes a while for her to warm up to any new human friend, but once she does, she has a way of stealing your heart and making you fall for her.
Velvet is a mellow girl looking for her perfect home. This 4-year-old German Shepherd/Chinese Shar-Pei mix is looking for a home that does not have any other dogs or cats. She gets along best with people and can self entertain — toys can keep her occupied for hours.
Ollie, a 2-year-old Shepherd-Chinese Shar-Pei mix, is excited to meet new people. He gets so excited sometimes that he forgets just how big he is (he likes to give bear hugs). Other than needing to work on his manners, Ollie is a pretty happy-go-lucky oversized puppy. He recently learned about hiking, and loves it. Enjoying the fresh air on a nice day with a human is really something Ollie looks forward to.
Pepperberry a Chinese Shar-Pei Mix watches people as she waits to be adopted at the Arizona Animal Welfare league. The AAWL recently broke ground for a new location just west of their current location on 40th place and Washington in Phoenix. April, 22, 2011 DARRYL WEBB/AFN
