The Prickly Piecers, a chapter of the Arizona Quilters Guild, is celebrating their 10-year anniversary this month by inviting all former and current members or members of the public interested in joining to an event from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Three Dudes Quilting, 5053 E. Elliot Road, There will be door prizes, a quilt cake, snacks, a charity quilt presentation and recognition of past presidents.

The best of friends, 1-year-old Wobbly was born outside and got a virus which affected his brain so that he walks with a wobbly gait. Older Tang, about 5 years old, has adopted him like an older brother and gently plays with and grooms him. Both are quiet and well behaved, but Tang likes high places that Wobbly can’t go. On Aug. 8, I read an article written by Dan Tamblo, a good writer. I have also read a few other articles about The Lakes and the proposed residential housing project in this paper. I agree with those homeowners (51 percent or more, I hope) who do not support further residential development at The Lakes Golf Course.
