Hawkeye is a large mixed breed guy that came to Friends for Life Animal Rescue from the Yuma Humane Society. His family turned him in ... they said they had no time for him. He is about 2 years old. He is a very nice boy ... silly as well. Volunteers at the shelter have been working with teaching him commands such as lay down. It has been observed that he is food possessive and because of this he should be an only animal in his new home. Hawkeye is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. He currently lives at Friends for Life’s adoption center, 143 W. Vaughn Ave., in downtown Gilbert. His adoption fee is $125.
Hannah is a beautiful girl, estimated to be a 2-year-old Shepherd blend. She originally was found as a stray in Yuma. She weighs more than 60 pounds. Hannah is a great companion for humans, however, not so much for other animals. She becomes possessive if dogs are around and want her toys or her food. She’ll need to be the only animal in the home because of this. She can and does, however, interact with other dogs when there are no toys or food around. Hannah isn’t too great with her doggy manners upon meeting new dog friends. Volunteers at the shelter say she’s an awesome dog with people and they have no doubt that even though she needs to be the only animal in the home she’ll be enough to fill the role of companion. She’s been spayed, microchipped and is up to date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $125. Hannah calls Friends for Life Animal Rescue in downtown Gilbert home for now until a forever family is found.
Sally is a special 5-month-old kitten. She and her brother, Harry, have an extra toe on each paw. She is very playful and enjoys a nice perch to watch the world outside. She is good with other cats and maybe dogs. Can you give her a second chance at a new life?
Chaplain is all ready in his black and white tuxedo, but has nowhere to go. He is a beautiful boy as you can see and volunteers agree he is a busy boy. He enjoys his play toys so his new family will hopefully provide some for him and not mind that he has an active schedule. Chaplain is a loving boy as well and will sit with his people from time to time. He’d probably do well with cats that don’t mind him being so active and some dogs as well. Chaplain has tested negative for FELV/FIV, is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. He currently calls Friends for Life’s adoption center in downtown Gilbert home. His adoption fee is $85. If interested in meeting him, call (480) 497-8296, visit www.azfriends.org, or just come in during office hours to meet him.

Kermit was originally found as a stray and brought in to the Yuma Humane Society. He is estimated to be about 6 years old. The guess on what he is … Chihuahua mix? All that is known for sure is he’s absolutely adorable. Kermit needs a child-free home as he has a bit of sensitivity when being handled. Don’t let that scare you though … the volunteers that work with Kermit at the shelter can go over/explain what exactly that means. He is a very sweet boy. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Kermit’s adoption fee is $125.

He is completely house trained and knows how to use a dog door. Milo has lots of love to share.

Ollie is a beautiful boy, estimated to be about 4 years old. He’s got sparkling gold eyes and jet black fur. He is good with other cats, but isn’t too thrilled about dogs. Ollie is very a friendly and social guy. He enjoys being the center of attention and most of the time you can find him purring away. He enjoys playing with toys, but just as much enjoys snuggling up with his people. Ollie did have to undergo a dental due to a common tooth issue found in cats called “tooth resorption disease.” All but his front incisors and bottom canines had to be removed. He feels great now and more than ready to find his forever home.
This beautiful, long-haired 5-year-old tuxedo cat is a loving, vocal, loyal sweetheart. His family lost their home to foreclosure and moved on, but no one thought to let him know, so he stayed in the front yard trying to get into the house whenever a real estate agent showed it. Unfortunately, he was waiting for his family to return. More than six weeks later he was rescued and has turned out to be extremely friendly, playful and loving to other cats and humans, and maybe dogs. One of his favorite activities is to sit on your lap to be brushed, which is definitely a priority due to his beautiful long fur. He also enjoys lounging on a cat tree or just sitting in a windowsill to watch birds. Lost our Home promised LB that we would find him a great forever home and that he would never be left behind again. Can you give LB a second chance at a new life?

Jewel is a gorgeous domestic short-haired black cat estimated to be 1-3 years old. She is an active girl with events scheduled throughout the day such as playing with toys and laser lights, but her main goal is to give her humans as much love as possible. She is a great “companion” kitty. She loves to be pet and will “make biscuits” and help you “work.” Jewel CAN be competitive for attention if you have other cats so it probably is best she be the only love of your life. Jewel is also good with children.
