This is embarrassing, or at least it would be if I had any hope of pretending that I wasn’t doing a perfect impersonation of an ex-nun. But my feckless, impetuous youth has recklessly sailed and sunk in the harbor, so you may as well know the truth.

Books are written to help readers change their perspective on life, to go after their dreams, and to help shape us all to become the people we are going to ultimately become someday. They are written to help us learn about the past, give us insight to current events, and to prepare us for the future. When children are given a book, they are given a key to another world that will help expand their mind and start to show them what their interests are. And what better place to exercise their creativity than by that of a bookstore.

Testosterone is critical for energy, mental clarity, a strong functioning heart, insulin sensitivity, protein synthesis, building strong bones and muscles, and keeping your brain operating at peak performance. Men produce approximately 10 times more testosterone than women. Testosterone provides powerful anti-aging effects for both men and women. It works with estrogen to keep skin supple, increase bone mineral density, boost mood and ability to handle stress.
I once approached my life and work as if I was building a house. Drive a nail here. Lay a block there. Smear a bit of paint in the corner. Cut out a window now and again. Figuratively, this is how I treated my life, and it is a solid, powerful image. It is also an image with plenty of biblical roots.
Today is Father’s Day and it made me realize (once again) how blessed I am to have the dads that I have, and how grateful I am to still have them! Their characters molded me, just like your dad’s molded you.
Just a few points prevented Nila Dhinaker from attaining her goal of reaching the top 40 in the nation’s most prestigious spelling bee last month. That leaves her a year to take a second shot at a more favorable outcome.
After nearly 13 years of war, the number of people we mourn on Memorial Day has grown exponentially. Between invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, drone strikes in Pakistan and Yemen, “limited bombing campaigns” in Libya and more, the U.S. has both caused too many deaths and suffered too many losses.
