    Ahwatukee Foothills students Bobae Johnson and Ryan Grieser, seventh-graders at Kyrene Altadeña Middle School, recently performed with the Four Seasons Orchestra for the Bach and Louise Kerr Concert. They were featured soloists. Bobae was the Junior Division Grand Champion winner for the Four Seasons Orchestra Bach Concerto competition 2012, and shared the first plan with Linda Hahn, a freshman at Desert Vista High School.

    Valley View Community Food Bank in Youngtown will be even busier this summer and needs more food for the next few months once school is out. Jesse Ramirez, executive director of the food bank, said many families ask for food from the organization in the summer because their children are at home more often. Just in time, Valley View received extra help in the form of a $1,000 check.

    The Arizona Department of Transportation will suspend construction activity on the project to widen Interstate 10 east of Casa Grande between Interstate 8 and State Route 87 on Sunday night (Feb. 20) so lanes can be kept open for Presidents Day weekend travel. The normal work schedule, 7 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, will resume on Monday night (Feb. 21).
