Here’s the thing about baked stuffed peppers... Plenty of people hate them. And when you consider the classic approach to this dish, it’s hard to argue. Tasteless ground beef mixed with white rice and some sort of tomato product? Not particularly exciting.

Let’s face it, America and the West are failing now on the world stage. Particularly in the Middle East, fanatical Islamists are riding a huge wave of success. The convert-or-die crowd seems close to establishing the long-desired caliphate of regional Islamic hegemony.
I received a mystery package recently, opened it up, and discovered a popular appetite suppressant inside. Sprinkle this magic powder on your food, the included literature instructed, and allegedly it would cooperate with your sense of smell to curb your cravings. And here it was in my hands — a whole box of the stuff. But I didn’t order it.
When the trailer for “Edge of Tomorrow” hit awhile back, everyone seemed to have the same reaction. “So what, it’s like ‘Groundhog Day’ meets ‘Transformers?’” In a nutshell, yeah, that’s exactly what the film is. The good news is that “Edge of Tomorrow” is also one of the summer’s more surprising blockbusters. As an action picture, it’s infinitely smarter and more entertaining than any of the “Transformers” movies. While not as funny or heartfelt as “Groundhog Day,” it does have a very welcome sense of humor and genuine affection for its characters. It’s kind of a shame that this $178 million blockbuster is likely destined to get lost in the shuffle of summer movies as it’s really worth checking out.
Rick Savagian, owner of Mountainside Martial Arts Center, started his first self-defense karate program in Ahwatukee Foothills in 1979 with just six students. After 35 years in business he is now proud to say he has taught more than 11,000 students with more than 100 earning black belts.
Dear Claudia: I have been living in my house in Ahwatukee for the last seven years. I fixed it up back then, but now it’s looking outdated. I have a minimum budget of $1,000 to spruce up my living dining room. Without seeing my space what do you recommend I should do within my budget?

As a “volunteen” at Chandler Regional Medical Center each of the past three summers, Lindsey Chew noticed many patients or family members often sitting alone in the hospital. She would strike up a conversation but soon determined that wasn’t enough.
WASHINGTON — Despite the long, snowy winter in the Mid-Atlantic region, Washington's famous cherry blossom trees are expected to bring the first sure sign of spring between April 8-12, when they're predicted to reach peak bloom, the National Park Service said Tuesday.

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but few could justifiably question the beauty of a Hayao Miyazaki film. A revered master of animation, the Oscar-winning director/writer makes something as simple as a hazy sky so ravishing, it can take your breath away.
It’s a fact, when it comes to buying or selling any house the kitchen gets the No. 1 scrutiny and can make or break the sale. It is the most used space in the house and has the most expensive components concentrated in one spot. The kitchen has been the most evolved room in the house and does not look nor function the same as yesterday’s kitchen.

In Japan, the story of the 47 ronin is so central to the country's national identity that a special word exists for the act of retelling it: Chushingura. But despite this long tradition of flexible reinterpretation, the Hollywood-backed "47 Ronin" takes such liberties with the underlying legend that a different term comes to mind, one better suited to American actor Keanu Reeves' involvement: "bogus." So far, Japanese audiences have been slow to embrace a CG-heavy version of the story that offers Keanu as a previously unsung "half-breed" accomplice. Meanwhile, domestic crowds are being deliberately misled to think he's the star — a high-stakes bait-and-switch sure to backfire on this narratively stiff but compositionally dazzling production.
