One of my favorite kinds of television shows are news programs and/or investigative journalism pieces. If you learn something new every day, it has been a successful day, in my opinion, and these shows, for the most part, are well researched, well directed and overall present credible information. Occasionally, they do miss the mark, however, and we need people knowledgeable in those particular fields to set us straight as to the misinformation. One such event happened the other day as I was watching one of the investigators on a local news station talk about how some companies promise to speed up your PC in minutes over the Internet without no worry or inconvenience to you.
1. Placing the litter box, food, and water in the same location. We wouldn’t want the bathroom to be incorporated into the kitchen and neither do our cats. Cats are fastidious animals and generally prefer to eliminate far from where they eat and drink. If they must be located in the same room, be sure they are on opposite sides of the room.
There’s no denying that as aesthetic medicine has advanced into the mainstream by opening new markets and broadening the realistic potential base, patients have begun to demand better results, less discomfort, decreased risk and less downtime with the aesthetic procedures they choose to peruse.
Testosterone is a hormone that does much more than fuel your libido. Testosterone is critical for energy, mental clarity, a strong functioning heart, insulin sensitivity, protein synthesis, building strong bones and muscles, and keeping your brain operating at peak performance. Men produce approximately 10 times more testosterone than women. Testosterone provides powerful anti-aging effects for both men and women. It works with estrogen to keep skin supple, increase bone mineral density, boost mood and ability to handle stress.
The appearance of your skin, including the skin on your feet, is a reflection of what’s going on internally with your health. Dry, cracked heels are an indication that your body is out of balance, not an indication that you need an expensive foot cream or a pedicure. Dry, cracked heels are a very common problem that can be embarrassing and unsightly. Fortunately, the following remedies will result in smooth, happy, healthy feet.
If you believe your appearance is important and if you are concerned about looking your best with minimal down time, if any, perhaps you may want to consider Botox cosmetic surgery. Botox therapy is not a filler substance like Juvederm or Restylane. It does not directly affect the skin.
Recently, I came across the quote from the Chinese philosopher Lao-Tze: “Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your habits; they become your character. Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.”
Nearly 80 percent of Americans admit they feel tired, exhausted, low energy, fatigue and experience too much stress. Many mistakenly link it to getting older. Contrary to popular belief, low energy and fatigue are not inevitable consequences of getting older.
In a ruling potentially affecting thousands of Arizonans, a federal appeals court on Tuesday voided a cost-saving bid by the state's Medicaid program to deny incontinence briefs to some adults who need them.
Genetically engineered (GE) foods are foods derived from genetically modified organisms (GMOs); an infective process where a cell is infected with foreign material triggering significant inflammation in the gut and visceral organs.
Could you do it? If your kids distribute inappropriate pictures through their social media, could you confiscate their phones and “shut down their Twitter and Facebook accounts and test them randomly for drugs and alcohol?”
Over the past few months, in Arizona, there have been multiple changes affecting health care coverage for children in Arizona. In October, a bipartisan bill passed which increased Medicaid expansion to 138 percent of the Federal Poverty Level and many more Arizona families qualified for Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS).
Sinusitis is an inflammation of the mucous membranes. Most cases of chronic sinusitis are not caused by infection but are actually an immune disorder caused by fungus. Mayo Clinic researchers found that “fungal organisms were present in 96 percent of patients who had surgery for chronic sinusitis, and that inflammatory cells were clumped around the fungi, which indicated that the condition was an immune disorder caused by fungus.”
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the No. 1 cause of morbidity and mortality in the U.S. CVD is one of the most misdiagnosed and mistreated conditions in medicine. The top risk factors for CVD include hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes and obesity, a.k.a. diobesity, and smoking, which are poorly treated and often with toxic pharmaceutical drugs. Many physicians fail to measure or are completely unaware of the other risk factors and, therefore, do not treat them.
