Gov. Jan Brewer signed the bill allowing Girl Scouts–Arizona Cactus-Pine Council (GSACPC) to have a special license plate issued by the Arizona Department of Transportation. Ahwatukee Girl Scout Troop 665 hosted a coat drive last month with the help of the national organization, One Warm Coat, to collect more than 100 coats for the women and children at Maggie’s Place, a community that provides houses of hospitality for expectant women who are alone or on the streets and wish to achieve their goals in a dignified atmosphere. Maggie’s Place operates four homes, including three in Phoenix.
