Violet is a 1-year-old Cairn Terrier who loves everyone she meets. As a matter of fact, to get someone’s attention, she has the very cute habit of standing up and waving her front legs at them. She uses this tactic when asking for treats as well. Violet loves being with her people, especially if it involves sitting in your lap or being held in your arms. Scratch Violet behind her ears and watch her eyes close in pure ecstasy. In response to your affections, Violet snuggles even closer and offers happy doggie kisses. In addition to snuggling, other activities popular with Violet include playing with toys, other dogs, and playful kitties; going on walks; riding in cars; shopping in local pet supply stores; and hanging out with us humans at the local café.
Once again, we see America supporting the “dirty end” of the political stick. We are (or soon will be) supplying money and weapons to the “al-Queda” Islamists in Syria (the Islamic state of Iraq, the Levant, Ahrar al-Sham to name a few of these crazies who practice cannibalism, beheadings and the like). Now we are to climb in bed with Neo-Nazi’s in Ukraine (Svoboda, Patriots of Ukraine, Spilna Sprava, Afgantsy and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army to name just a few).
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen: When we imagine a desert, what do we first think of? Usually sand, heat, Gila monsters, and cacti. Right here in Ahwatukee, each spring, a magical beauty unfolds right before our eyes. We witness the brilliant colors of blue, red, and pink against the backdrop of rocks and cacti. The beauty is so breathtaking that my spirits are lifted as I walk through the neigborhood enjoying the abundance of Arizona wildflowers in frontyards. Neighbors, gentle souls, allow the blue, red, and pink desert plants to mesmerize the onlooker. Thanks to the kind souls who invite us to enjoy nature's canvas in their front yards prior to the onset of the harsh summer months. Months awaiting us with trist, gray, and brown colors. Respectfully yours, Dr. Petra Schmid-Riggins
Paul Lucas hit the weight room for the first time, produced a national-best time and in the process raised expectations if that is possible.

She’s been FELV/FIV tested negative, altered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and housetrained.
After years of simple solids and geometric prints, the lowly flower is making a comeback in decor. Floral patterns have been blooming all over fashion runways in recent months, and they are slowly finding their way back into the world of home decorating, too.
When “300” came out almost seven years ago, you probably either thought it was the coolest movie of all time or the lamest movie of all time. While it was dumb and silly, the film’s glorified violence, striking look, and classic one-liners did admittedly have an effect on the macho dinosaur in me. The sad truth is that the style over substance appeal of “300” is only good for one movie. The first time you see such eye candy popping out at the screen, it’s friggin’ awesome. The second time around, it’s about as repetitive as watching Optimus Prime transform over and over again. That’s just one of the reasons why “300: Rise of the Empire” is dead on arrival.
An attorney for a California divorce lawyer accused of murder in Arizona says he expects that his client will get released from jail early next week in response to a judge's decision that threw out a jury's guilty verdict in the case and ordered a new trial.

I feel extremely blessed to work with tweens and teens as they learn to navigate the many challenges of adolescence. Aside from the countless benefits of teaching what I love, this journey has rewarded me in countless other ways. For example, although my daughters are young (6 and almost 2), my daily interactions with youth have helped to shape who I am as a parent.
It’s easy to imagine how the pitch for “Non-Stop,” the latest action thriller starring Liam Neeson, went down. “Okay, guys, how about this? It’s ‘Taken,’ but on an airplane!”
One of the pitfalls of being a sports writer is the impartiality that needs to be obtained to do your job properly.
Declawed Chloe is an independent spirit, a lap kitty when she chooses to be and prefers to observe the goings on from her reserved standpoint.
They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but few could justifiably question the beauty of a Hayao Miyazaki film. A revered master of animation, the Oscar-winning director/writer makes something as simple as a hazy sky so ravishing, it can take your breath away.
Family of Christ Learning Center in Ahwatukee will be inviting the community out this Saturday to enjoy its Family Fun Day event.
LOS ANGELES — With less than a week to go before the Academy Awards, the Dolby Theatre in the heart of Hollywood is on lockdown. Guards stand at every door, and handlers with walkie-talkies keep a close eye on any visitors.

Adopting a pet is a great thing to do! Giving a dog or cat (puppy or kitten) a second chance can be a wonderfully rewarding experience. Unfortunately sometimes it can be quite frustrating when things don’t go as expected. Here are five things to consider before adopting a pet:

East Valley residents have easy access to some of the best mountain bike trails in the state. From beginner rides to technical thrills, there are options for anybody interested in singletrack adventure.
It’s a fact, when it comes to buying or selling any house the kitchen gets the No. 1 scrutiny and can make or break the sale. It is the most used space in the house and has the most expensive components concentrated in one spot. The kitchen has been the most evolved room in the house and does not look nor function the same as yesterday’s kitchen.
PRESCOTT VALLEY – There was a time in Bob Callison’s young life while growing up in Wisconsin that everything was so dysfunctional he had to runaway.
My favorite thing about fancy parties? They almost always include a shrimp cocktail appetizer — platters of giant, plump shrimp just waiting to be dunked into a piquant cocktail sauce.
Well it’s February, which means two things. First, we’re going to get a totally lame action picture that wasn’t good enough for a summer release, i.e. “RoboCop.” Second, we’re going to get several predicable romance movies that nobody put any thought into whatsoever. “Endless Love” isn’t just a predicable romance movie. It’s an excruciatingly predicable one. Every character ark and plot point can be seen from several miles away. Watching this seemingly endless parade of clichés will overwhelm any thinking human being with grave frustration, making them want to hurl tomatoes at the screen.
I know shopping online is the craze nowadays, but it can be bland. I recall that thrill in trying out the latest gadgets at the local Five & Dime, the intrigue I felt in browsing through that Army Surplus store, the entice in a candy shop, and the joy I had in playing around at the toy store.
