Annalisa is a beautiful 1-year-old Sharpei with great markings and a great personality. This charming, sweet, affectionate girl loves attention from people, big and small, and is very willing to trade kisses for kisses. Annalisa enjoys snuggling with or napping next to you. She knows basic commands such as sit and takes treats very gently from your hand. She can also drink water straight from a bottle. Show Annalisa a toy box and she’ll get right to work carrying each toy into a different area of the house. Annalisa likes to fetch tennis balls, play with rope toys, and gnaw on bones. One of her favorite games is playing with a running water hose — she’ll jump into the spray, chase the water, and after the water is shut off, she’ll paw at the hose trying to get the water to reappear.
Milo is a very energetic 11-year-old male Beagle. He would do well in a home with or without other dogs and older children. He loves to go on walks, but also likes to sit in the backyard and let out a howl every now and then. He does not get on the furniture, and sleeps in his dog bed at night. He is completely house trained and knows how to use a dog door. Milo has lots of love to share.
Leaving aside anything made with powdered eggs (which don’t really count as eggs at all in my book), I’ve never met an egg dish I didn’t like. But at the tippy top of my list of favorites is the edible magic trick known as the souffled omelet.
Bean is Havana brown, with a beautiful rare coat and greenish eyes. She is sweet and lovable, and craves attention and petting. Her hobbies include reading, tai chi, and yoga. When you call her name she likes to answer you. Currently a little chubby because she eats everyone else’s dinner including her own, Bean should be able to stay on her diet when in her new home eating “light” food.
With the summer here, pet travel is at its height. Whether you’re parking in the shade, just running into the store, or leaving the windows cracked, it is still not OK to leave your pet in a parked car. The temperature inside a car can skyrocket after just a few minutes. Parking in the shade or leaving the windows cracked does very little to alleviate this pressure cooker.
Mango is a sweet love bug. He enjoys giving hugs and relishes his time walking. Mango delights in belly rubs and will reward you with big kisses. His tail never stops wagging and he is a jolly and joyful boy. He will make an excellent addition to a fun-loving, energetic and loving family. Mango is looking for an active home with daily walks/jogs, weekend hikes and playtime at the dog park. Another canine friend would be great, too. Of course love for a big lap dog is a must for this love bug.
Tapioca is a very sweet dog, but takes some time to warm up to people. However, once she does she is very personable and loves to follow you around as well as curl up right next to you on a couch or bed. She is very smart and seems to understand the concept of potty training and just could use some further reinforcement. She also loves toys, especially Kongs or anything involving chewing. Tapioca is looking for a loving home with a family who will treat her right. She needs a family who doesn’t mind her taking time building confidence and trust. If you give Tapioca a chance, she’ll be the best companion you’ve ever had. She is a very sweet and playful dog.
Ganache is a 3-year-old Lhasa Apso mix. This shy boy needs slow introductions to other dogs. After he gets comfortable he can be playful, gentle, and very sweet. He has become friends with some of the other dogs at AAWL so other dogs would have to meet him first to see if they are compatible.
A delicate spice calls for a delicate cookie. So when looking for ways to make the most of the gorgeous color and ethereal flavor of saffron, meringue puff cookies were the obvious choice. The result is a decidedly adult-friendly cookie with a light, crunchy exterior and a wonderfully chewy interior.
It’s no secret that liquor is a simple solution to holiday gift-giving. You don’t see a lot of people lining up Dec. 26 to return bottles of 12-year-old Scotch. And what better way to embrace the spirit of giving than by giving a spirit?
Ground cardamom gives this simple fall-friendly crisp a sweet-spicy flavor that you will smell as much as taste. Don’t worry too much about which type of oats to use in a recipe such as this. Though we prefer old-fashioned rolled oats, feel free to use the “quick” variety if that’s what you happen to have. The differences won’t be tremendous.
