Recently while traveling, I was listening to a local AM radio station. In between the jazz tunes that were being shared, the radio announcer enjoyed sharing heartwarming stories or quick snippets that uplift the human spirit. The announcer had a deep and silky voice and his delivery was calming, almost as if I was sitting fireside with him for story time.
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the No. 1 cause of morbidity and mortality in the U.S. CVD is one of the most misdiagnosed and mistreated conditions in medicine. The top risk factors for CVD include hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes and obesity, a.k.a. diobesity, and smoking, which are poorly treated and often with toxic pharmaceutical drugs. It is only a few short weeks until Christmas and as I ponder about how to make this year’s event merry and bright, I thought I would share my ideas with you.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and the Kyrene School District is trying to spread the holiday cheer by asking community members for toy donations for its Winter Wonderland toy drive.
My assignment: In 700 words or less, I’m supposed to keep you and your money safe while you’re out buying for the holidays. How about I do it in 17 words and two punctuation points: do not buy gift cards, do not shop online, and do not get talked into extended warranties!
