    Tuesday, April 3, 2012 1:09 pm

All of a sudden we seem to be getting a lot of movies and television shows centered around Snow White. Ginnifer Goodwin currently plays the fairytale princess on the ABC drama, “Once Upon a Time.” Later this summer, Kristen Stewart will take on the role in “Snow White and the Huntsman.” Last weekend brought us “Mirror Mirror,” a comedic take on the Snow White legend. Judging from the ad campaign, “Mirror Mirror” looked like it had the potential to be a light fantasy adventure along the lines of “The Princess Bride” or “Stardust.” Unfortunately, it’s more like the poor man’s “Ella Enchanted.”

  15. article ‘Breaking Dawn - Part 1’ may be worst of series

    Wednesday, November 30, 2011 3:00 pm

I think I finally get it. I finally understand why Edward Cullen loves Bella Swan. It's because she's the only being on the face of the earth that's even more bland and gloomy than he is. Even on her wedding day, the happiest day of her life, Bella can barely crack a grin as her father walks her down the isle. She looks almost as constipated with grief as I was while watching "Jack and Jill." In that sense, I suppose that Bella and Edward are a match made in heaven.

  25. article Choosing the right combination of rest, activity after childbirth

    Wednesday, April 13, 2011 10:00 am

After having a baby, regardless of what type of delivery it was, it is important for a new mother to get plenty of rest her first week at home. Being up at night with a newborn, experiencing fluctuating hormones, having breast milk come in, and having a lower blood count all contribute to exhaustion, which can also lead to depression. A new mother should plan to take naps while her baby sleeps, and try to arrange for help with older siblings and daily household duties so she can concentrate on recovering from childbirth and taking care of her baby.
