    On Aug. 13, the American Foundation for Cardiomyopathy and local businessmen Martin Sepulveda and Dave Cisiewski of M&D Partners donated an automated defibrillator to the Rio Swim Club at McClintock High School in Tempe. Sepulveda, a former ASU wrestler, presented the automated defibrillator to Rio Swim Club coach and three-time Olympic gold medalist Melissa Belote Ripley.

On average, 12 million of these youngsters will receive treatment for injuries in hospital emergency rooms or medical offices. The reason for these large numbers of injuries is primarily because children are getting involved at much younger ages and with higher levels of physical intensity in their chosen sport.
