Diana DeGarmo realized she had more than big shoes to fill when she took on the role of Doralee in the Broadway musical of the film, “9 to 5.” For five months, DeGarmo has been tackling the character made famous in the movie by country legend Dolly Parton, who also wrote the original music for the stage adaptation. “When I first found out I got the part, I was excited because (Parton) is an idol of mine in music,” DeGarmo said. “But I knew I had a big bra to fill.”

The Bra Recyclers, a division of Bosom Buddy Bra Recycling, has declared October "Bra Recycling Month." October is a month traditionally dedicated to Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness. In an effort to support these powerful causes, The Bra Recyclers are offering women nationwide an opportunity to support these efforts in a different way - by recycling gently used and unused bras. A portion of bras collected during October will be donated to women's shelters nationwide.
Help Athena's Home Novelties build a bra chain and raise money for breast cancer awareness. The national campaign, called Athena's Cup, aims to collect and hook together 169,000 donated bras, which would break the current bra-chain Guinness world record. Athena's Cup will collect a $5 donation with each bra in an effort to raise half a million dollars. Donors are encouraged to write the names of a loved one or other meaningful inscriptions on the bras prior to sending them in. Gently worn bras will be donated to battered women shelters following the campaign, which will run through October.
