The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) has selected eight deserving local companies as recipients of its 27th annual IMPACT Awards. The IMPACT Awards honor the accomplishments of small and large businesses and the impact they have on the Valley’s business community and economy. This year, the GPCC recognizes two recipients in each of four categories: Community Champion, Economic Driver, Entrepreneurial Excellence, and Response to Adversity. The 2014 IMPACT Businesses of the Year will be selected from these honorees and announced at a luncheon on Thursday, May 15 at the Arizona Biltmore. The 2014 honorees are:

The hour-long charity yoga session, organized by the Arizona Biltmore Spa,. Participants are asked to contribute a minimum of $5. All profits will go directly to the AHS.
The Arizona Humane Society (AHS) invites you to celebrate its Sweet 16th annual Compassion with Fashion: Pets Make Life Sweet on March 29. The luncheon event, presented by Hill’s Science Diet, begins with a bubbly champagne raffle, presented by Schmitt Jewelers, and a candy-coated silent auction featuring items ranging from dining experiences to the limited-edition Petcasso Art Collection. Afterward, guests will be treated to a lunch accompanied by a sugar high fashion show courtesy of Biltmore Fashion Park.
Since last August, Suzy Thorne of Ahwatukee has helped buy new school clothes for almost 900 children in need, coordinating a massive effort that involves eight school districts and dozens of volunteers. She did the same thing the year before.
