    Registration opens April 27 at 10:30 a.m. for Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department summer programs including full-day supervised recreation programs at 13 sites to keep kids engaged, active and safe over the summer break. The full-day programs will start June 3 and run through the end of July. In addition to the full-day programs, centers also are offering a large selection of general interest classes and sports programs. Many smaller centers also are offering free, drop-in programs during the summer.

    Karma is a domestic short-haired buff and white large male kitty. He is approximately 6 years old. Karma’s personality is one of the strong, silent types. He very much enjoys sitting on a human’s lap or sitting next to someone for some love. Getting lovin’ is his favorite thing to do. He bows his head for rubs then “collapses” upside down for some belly rubs. Karma has tested negative for FELV/FIV. He is altered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and litter-box trained. He currently calls Friends for Life’s adoption center in downtown Gilbert home.

    Charles William Roloff, 97, of Phoenix passed away on March 6. He was born May 10, 1915, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Renee B. Roloff, on Nov. 17, 2004.

  25. article Vendors needed for Ahwatukee Dog Show

    The Seventh Annual Ahwatukee Dog Show will take place on Saturday, March 23 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Ahwatukee Swim and Tennis Center, 4700 E. Warner Road. Organizers are looking for rescue groups, breed clubs, or other dog-related vendors to join the fun. There is no cost to set up a booth for the event.
