The Arizona Youth Soccer Association (AYSA) is hosting the U.S. Youth Soccer 2012 Far West Regional Championships this week. The winners will go on to compete for Nationals in Rock Hill, S.C., in July. Nationally ranked teams from surrounding states will be competing in the event. The championship playoffs start Friday with finals on Sunday.
Several players from the area will be competing. From Desert Vista Rachel Ressler (SC del Sol 94 Girls), Tyler Angell (SC del Sol 95 Boys), Josh Greene (SC del Sol 95 Boys), Mac Paquette (SC del Sol 95 Boys), and from Kyrene Akimel Middle School is Logan Rabasca (SC del Sol 00 Boys).
