The Big South Conference announced the official nominees for the Conference’s Woman of the Year award for 2012-13, with 13 student-athletes including Ahwatukee resident and Seton Catholic graduate Molly Barlow from 10 member institutions comprising this year’s candidates.

Barlow, a 3.99 student in elementary education, has served as a volunteer with Special Olympics, the Miracle League and Big Brothers Big Sisters while at High Point. She has also participated with Habitat for Humanity and local food drives. Barlow is a member of the HPU Student Alumni Council and was a co-presenter at the Collaborative Conference for Student Achievement. She was the Big South’s Volleyball Scholar-Athlete of the Year this past season.

The selection committee will determine two finalists before deciding on the overall winner, which will be announced and presented at the Big South’s Awards and Hall of Fame Dinner May 30 at The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, Va.
