Wednesday marked the start of the spring signing season.

Horizon Honors had a ceremony for Blaykleigh Smythe, who is headed to Bellhaven University in Mississippi for volleyball; Connor Pendleton, who will continue his track career at Occidental College; Mikaela Martin, who will run for Biola University; and Chris Senna, who will enroll at the University of Nebraska/Kearney to continue his golf career.

Mountain Pointe’s Kayla Gladstone will play lacrosse at Colorado State University — Pueblo.

Desert Vista had 11 signs this week: Nicole Hicks (cross country, track, Texas Christian), Alexa Foster (Eastern Washington), Alex Foster (XC, track, Hawaii-Manoa), Lorenz Delaney (soccer, CSU-Pueblo), Nick Mangialardi (soccer, CSU-Pueblo), Tricia Andrews (swimming, Concordia University), Baile Blankemeier (swim, Concordia), Kylie Wiegel (softball, South Mountain), Shelia Barbee (golf, Scottsdale), Randy Ross (golf, New Mexico), Jahnae Martin (basketball, Pima), and Symaani Joiner-Lister (basketball, Chandler-Gilbert).
