Spring athletes honored by coaches

The Arizona Interscholastic Association has its own recognition section on its website for coaches to vote for all-state and section honors for certain team sports.


It is unknown how many coaches participate in the process, but the results still hold prestige. Here are the area players who were honored in spring sports:


Baseball


Division I All-state second team: Colby Woodmansee (Desert Vista)

Division I, Section III first-team: Woodmansee, Jake Alexander (Mountain Pointe)


Division I, Section III second-team: Zack Cordova (Mountain Pointe)

Division III, Section II second-team: Jake Connell (Horizon Honors)


Softball

Division I, Section III first-team: Danielle Block (Desert Vista)


Division I, Section III second-team: Kristen McCann (Mountain Pointe)


Boys volleyball


Division I All-state first-team: Brock Wilson (Desert Vista)


Division I All-state second-team: Kyle Pitman (Desert Vista)


Division I, Section III first-team: Wilson, Pitman


Division I, Section III second-team: Ryan Adams (Desert Vista)

Division I, Section III Coach of the Year: Ryan Tolman (Desert Vista)
