McManus fares well in U.S. Amateur

Desert Vista graduate and Pepperdine freshman Cody McManus fared well in the stroke play potion of the 87th U.S. Amateur Public Links Golf Championship at Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway, Utah.
McManus was tied for 21st with an even par 142 after shooting 74-68 Monday and Tuesday to qualify for the match-play portion of the event.
He was eliminated by Ben Geyer of Arbuckle, Calif., on Wednesday as the later won 1 up.
