The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) announced they have hired Mike Feder as the coordinator of Southern Arizona Special Projects. The long-time baseball executive brings more than three decades of experience including more than 15 years in Southern Arizona.
“We have been looking to expand our presence throughout Southern Arizona and the opportunity to add Mike to the organization was a great way for us to do that,” said D-backs President and CEO Derrick Hall. “His history in Tucson and knowledge of the area will be a tremendous asset to us.”
In his new role based in Tucson, Feder will work closely with the D-backs’ Executive Leadership Team, Special Projects, Ticket Sales and Marketing, Community Affairs and Baseball Outreach and Development departments to identify and execute programs that will create and enhance the connection from fans, both new and existing, in Southern Arizona.
Feder served as general manager of the Tucson Padres from 2011-13 and was previously the vice president and general manager of the Tucson Sidewinders and Tucson Toros from 1989-2000.
Feder received the Presidential Citation from Minor League Baseball and was the Pacific Coast League’s Executive of the Year in 2013, the sixth time he has received such honors in his league.
