Skyline Tech wins ultimate Frisbee state title

Skyline Tech, at 50th Street and Chandler Boulevard, won the ultimate Frisbee Arizona Charter Athletic Association's state title, 11-10, over James Madison Prep at Benedict Park Oct. 27.

Regulation play ended in a 10-10 score before Skyline's Christian Ruvalcaba made the game-winning pass to an energized and fast-moving Tremayne Avery in the end zone, bringing the final score to Tech, 11 - James Madison, 10.

Team roster: Tremayne Avery, Gila River D-6; Rainette Copperfield, Gila River D-5; Kyle Jose, Gila River D-5; Kyon Juan, Gila River D-4; Codee Martinez, Gila River D-6; Kyle Milda, Gila River D-6; Noah Montague, Ahwatukee; Geno Osife, Gila River D-6; Ryan Parke, Ahwatukee; Christian Ruvalcaba, Gila River D-5; Kamon Vanley, Chandler; Stacey Whitman, Gila River D-4.
