Youth golf challenge at Grayhawk

Drive Chip and Putt ( is a nationwide golf skills competition for children designed to introduce golf and competition to 7-15 year olds. Four age divisions for both boys and girls compete in local and regional qualifiers in order to qualify for the national finals the week of the Masters next April at Augusta National.

Augusta National, PGA of America, and the United States Golf Association have collaborated on this event, which drew nearly 30,000 registrants this first year.

There were 110 local qualifying sites in June and July. From those qualifiers 1,760 qualifiers will participate in 11 regional qualifiers around the country. Qualifiers in each age division and a guardian will be hosted by Augusta National for the finals next April the week of The Masters.

Southwest regional qualifier will be on Sunday, Aug. 25 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. (younger age divisions compete first) at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, 8620 E. Thompson Peak Pkwy.
