Huge youth hockey event on tap for the Valley

The 11th Annual Phoenix Presidents Day Invitational, a large youth hockey event in the U.S., will be at Chandler Polar Ice. This home base for the event means games will be played at Chandler, Gilbert and Peoria Polar Ice rinks, Arcadia (Central Phoenix), Oceanside (Tempe), Ice Den (Scottsdale) and two games at Jobing.com arena on Saturday before the Coyotes game.

The Arizona Hockey Union, a 501 3(c), youth hockey organizations will host 134 teams for 300 hockey games to be played Feb. 17-20.

More than 2,300 youth hockey players, ages 6 to 18, will come from as far away as Yellowknife, Northern Territories Canada to compete. In total, 38 teams from Canada, along with 30 local and 66 from out of state will be in town for the event.
