At first Mountain Pointe had trouble finding an opponent for its football scrimmage and then it appeared to have landed at Central in Phoenix along with Peoria Sunrise Mountain.

Officially, the Pride will travel to westside power Peoria Centennial on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

“It’s a good test for us,” Mountain Pointe coach Norris Vaugahn. “It’s a good program and good fit for us.”

Centennial won three state titles from 2006 to 2008 and has advanced to at least the state semifinals in the seasons since its three-peat.
