Desert Vista senior Tyler Viza was selected for the annual Area Code Games in Long Beach, Calif., and played for the Cincinnati Reds team.

In 24 innings as a junior for Desert Vista the right-hander had a 4.67 ERA and went 2-1 with two saves, while hitting .310 in 29 at-bats.

The event takes players from all over the country and places them on teams based on their residency. Each team plays five games over the course of the six-day tournament. The event annually features the top high school baseball prospects in the country.
