Desert Vista state champion Katie Olsen finished fourth at the Junior Pan Pacific games in Maui, Hawaii, in the 100-meter breaststroke.

The senior won the Class 5A Division I championships in the 50-yard freestyle (23.45 seconds) and 100 breaststroke. Her time of 1:00.68 is an all-time state record in the breaststroke. Right after setting the state record in the 100 breaststroke, she swam her 100 split in the 400 relay in a personal-best 52.21 seconds. She was the Fiesta Region Swimmer of the Year and state meet Swimmer of the Year.
