The 15U Ahwatukee Cardinals won the USSSA American Classic baseball tournament last weekend, sweeping their four opponents and winning the championship 8-2 over the South Mountain Runnin’ Rebels.
The Cardinals, made up almost entirely of Desert Vista freshmen also include two DV sophomores and one player each from Brophy Prep and Gilbert High, allowed only eight runs during the two-day tournament at Gene Autry Park.
