The Arizona Hockey Union U14AA team swept the State Championships earlier this month and is now heading to Buffalo, NY, to compete in the USA Hockey National Championship held March 30 to April 3.

They swept the field at the state championships beating Team Arizona 4-3, the Arizona Runners 3-2 and Mission Ice 5-2 in the round robin. They faced the Arizona Runners in the Championship game and beat them 7-3 for the state title.

Desert Vista freshman Colin Quinn, Preston Ames and Ryan Cutter are part of the team that practices at Polar Ice Chandler and Gilbert rinks.

The team is working hard to raise money to cover the $10,000 in expenses needed to attend the tournament. They have a website for donations and any support is appreciated.
