Area football players honored

Two more lists of all-Arizona football selections came out with several players being honored.

Mountain Pointe junior Jalen Brown made both the All-24-7 team as an athlete and the All-Academic team as first team picks.

Other area players joining Brown on the team were Pride offensive linemen Kenny Lacy (first team), Natrell Curtis (honorable mention), running back Garette Craig (honorable mention) and linebacker Landry Payne (honorable mention).

Desert Vista senior defensive lineman Lorenzo Melvin was a first-team pick and Dylan Fischer was an honorable mention pick.

Joining the Brown, who has a 3.7 GPA, on the all-academic team were honorable mention picks Aaron Blank (3.5 GPA) at linebacker, lineman Lucas Hunter (4.0 GPA) and quarterback Antonio Hinojosa (3.5 GPA). The Desert Vista honorable mention selections were lineman Cole Preston (4.2 GPA), wide receiver Kaleb Germinaro (3.6 GPA) and Fischer (3.5 GPA).
