The Mountain Pointe baseball team went 2-2 at the National High School Invitational at the USA Baseball complex in Cary, N.C. They won their first and fourth game of the event that featured some of the top programs in the nation.
Mountain Pointe closed out the tournament on Friday with a 10-9 win over T.C. Roberson (Asheville, N.C) in 10 innings.
While the play on the field was important so was the entire experience in helping the Pride focus on its goal the rest of the season.
“It was a great trip,” senior shortstop Cole Tucker said. “All the guys are a lot closer now. We got to see how we match up against some of the best teams in the country. I think playing in this tournament will prepare us for our ultimate goal of winning it all.”
