Becca Huffer, wins the Cinderella-story award at the Visit Mesa Gateway Classic contested at Longbow Golf Club, Feb. 21-23.

Thanks to title sponsor Visit Mesa, Huffer got a chance to compete on her home track, and she certainly made the most of it.

Huffer, who is a player-service assistant at Longbow, started the second round at 2-under par, and made four birdies on the front nine to vault from T13 into fourth place, six strokes off the lead.

In the end, she finished tied for third place, three strokes behind Sharp, with an incredible experience and a $5,000 check in her back pocket.

She was unable to catch winner Alena Sharp, Canadian native and current Arizona resident, who posted three solid rounds (67-66-71 – 204) to win it.
