Black finishes 27th at state golf tournament

Recent Desert Vista graduate Maggie Black finished 27th at the Girls State Junior Golf Championship that took place at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa on July 2 and 3.

For the fourth year in a row, the 2012 Arizona Boys & Girls State Junior Championship was administered by the four state golf associations, the Junior Golf Association of Arizona (JGAA), Southwest Section PGA, Arizona Golf Association and the Arizona Women’s Golf Association.

Black shot a 90-95—185 on the 6,066-yard, par-71 course in the 30-player field.

The winner was Saki Iida of Gilbert was the winner at 73-75-143, while boys champion on the 7,033-yard, par-71 course was Kolton Lapa of Mesa.

Longbow Golf Club is a nationally recognized daily fee golf course located in Mesa, Arizona within Longbow Business Park, managed by OB Sports.
