The event seemingly gets bigger every year. And rightfully so, but the Dig Pink event, and the cause behind it, can never do enough.

The Mountain Pointe and Desert Vista girls volleyball programs come together for the sixth annual Dig Pink game with this year’s match hosted by the Thunder on Thursday, Oct. 24.

The event has raised more than $36,000 for the Side-Out Foundation’s Dig Pink National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally for the highest total in the nation.

There will be auctions, raffles and merchandise available at the game.

The level of participation may have surprised some at the start, but in reality, and sadly, just about everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer.

The event starts at 4 p.m. with the freshmen match, followed by the junior varsity and the varsity match.
