Six Valley Christian student-athletes, including three Ahwatukee Foothills residents, earned All-Academic honors from Pros2Preps.

Representing Valley Christian girls basketball were seniors Abby Labahn (2nd Team) and Tana Kemmer (Honorable Mention). The girls basketball team finished an outstanding 27-4 on the year. The Trojans won their invitational tournament in December and their D-III Sectional in February.

Four members of the boys basketball team were honored on the All-Academic team. Alec Chavez (Sr.), Colten Gentry (Sr.), Brandon Haagsma (Jr.), and T.J. Widner (Jr.) earned honorable mention honors. The boys finished as the D-III State Runner-up after a remarkable run through the playoffs. VCHS finished 22-10 on the year.

Kemmer, Labhan and Chavez are Ahwatukee residents.

Based on nominations from Arizona coaches and members of the community, Pros2Preps compiled a list of players that are student-athletes both on court and in the classroom. To be considered, students must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA. The team is then compiled taking into effect academic and athletic achievements.

The six student-athletes on the boys and girls All-Academic teams were tied for the most by any Phoenix-area school and were the most by any school in the East Valley.
