Tickets are now on sale for one of the "newest" races on the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Full Throttle Drag Racing Series schedule - the 2011 Arizona Nationals, scheduled for Oct. 14-16 at Firebird International Raceway.

Instead of its traditional slot on NHRA's early-season schedule, the 2011 NHRA Arizona Nationals now moves to its mid-October timeframe. The new date means the race will have plenty at stake.

It joins NHRA's Countdown to the Championship - a six-race playoff series playing a critical role in determining season points' champions in all of NHRA's top categories.

Two of drag racing's greatest legends - Shirley Muldowney and Don Garlits - will be on-hand at this year's race as part of NHRA's 60th anniversary celebration.

Special packages are available featuring meet-and-greets as well as a private lunch with Muldowney and Garlits.

To purchase tickets or for more details, call (602) 268-0200 or visit www.firebirdraceway.com. For more information about the NHRA, visit www.nhra.com.
