February is Black History Month and Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) along with Talking Stick Resort and Casino and the Second II None Motorcycle Club (Phoenix Chapter) are offering an opportunity for Valley families to celebrate with the "Checkered Flag Run."

The Run is a first-of-its-kind event that offers a weekend's worth of activities including raffles/giveaways, a picnic hosted by Hacienda Harley-Davidson, various parties, one of the most recognized DJs in the country, races and more for motorcycle enthusiasts.

The event kicks off on Friday, Feb. 25 and roars until Feb. 27, the day of PIR's race. The cost for a ticket is $35.

More than 100 African-American motorcycle clubs from across the country have been invited to participate.

The event is offering $50,000 in cash prizes and will include special hospitality and parking for participants at Phoenix International Raceway; including a bike show judged by legendary bike builders Paul Yaffe of Bagger Nation, Brian Klock of Klockwerks Kustom Cycles and John Shope of Sinister Industries. A performance by renowned DJ Kid Capri at PIR is also highly anticipated.

Several limited edition motorcycles have also been donated as raffle prizes for those that register and participate in the Run. On the morning of the race day, the event participants will undertake a road rally from Talking Stick to PIR.
