The men’s tennis team from the Ahwatukee Country Racquet Club captured the national title at the USTA League 4.5 Adult National Championships at the Reffkin Tennis Center in Tucson, Ariz., recently.
The Mid-Atlantic team lost to a team from Phoenix, 4-1, in the championship match. Earlier in the day, the Phoenix team defeated a team from Houston, Texas, 3-2, in the semifinals. They advanced by winning their round-robin flight contested Friday and Saturday.
The team is captained by Michael Flinn and features Jonathan Levy, Joseph Martinez, Kurt Zweifel, Kyle Ogren, Stuart McNicol, Jacob Spizman, Shi Jin, Michael Flynn, Thomas Kollock, and Niles Jackson, who play at the Ahwatukee Racquet Club.
