YOPAS (Outreach Program for Ahwatukee Seniors) will host its third giant book sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Ahwatukee Foothills YMCA, 1030 E. Liberty Lane. More than 2,000 books will be available from 25 cents to $1, and plants will also be for sale. Funds raised will support the programs Y OPAS provides for Ahwatukee seniors.

Y OPAS is a program of the Ahwatukee Foothills Family YMCA that provides volunteers to help seniors remain independent at home. Volunteers help with transportation to doctor and other medical appointments, shopping and errands, friendly visiting, caregiver relief and more. Ahwatukee seniors 62 and older may sign up to use the service. There is no charge for assistance, but donations are gratefully received.

Book donations may be dropped off at the YMCA, Mountain View Lutheran Church (11002 S. 48th St.), Biscuits Restaurant (4623 E. Elliott Road) or the Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce (10235 N. 51st St.)

To sign up to use services or volunteer, call (602) 212-6088.
