The Desert Vista wrestling family had a very good weekend in Fargo, N.D., where the Junior and Cadet wrestling championships have been over the last few weeks.
Thunder graduate and three-time state champion Robbie Mathers finished third at 132 pounds in freestyle at the Junior level, while two-time state champion Alex Bambic finished eighth at 195 pounds in Junior freestyle.
Incoming freshman Alyssa Bambic, Alex’s sister, finished third in freestyle at the Cadet level.
Arizona’s top performer was Horizon senior Garrett Ryan, who finished fifth in freestyle and fourth in Greco.
