Ahwatukee resident Carson Tucker helped the USA Baseball 12U team to a runner-up finish in the COPABE Pan American Championships Sunday night at the Benito Juarez sports complex in Mexico.

The U.S. team fell to Nicaragua, 5-4, in the championship game.

Tucker, who went 3-for-4 in the title game, sparked a comeback attempt as he singled to start a three-run rally for a 4-3 lead, but Nicaragua took advantage of some defensive lapses to push ahead for the gold medal.
