Desert Vista will add Basha to its schedule in the fall as a replacement for the Brothers in Arms game it played in California last year.
It is expected to be a home game for the Thunder.
Mountain Pointe is headed back to Las Vegas for the Sollenberger Classic, but the opponent hasn’t been officially announced.
It is expected, but not confirmed, the Pride will play Reed, the Nevada big-school runner-up, while Brophy will take on Nevada state champion Bishop Gorman with both games being played at Gorman’s Fertitta Field.
The Arizona Interscholastic Association is expected to make the announcement soon.
Reed finished 12-2 in 2013 and advanced to the Division I state title game, where it lost to Gorman. The Raiders have typically played at least one out-of-state opponent in the past few seasons, although not in an all-star game setting such as the Sollenberger Classic.
"I am so excited for the program, and so excited for our kids," Reed coach Ernie Howren told the Reno Gazette Journal. "To get to play a team like Mountain Pointe, a team that was ranked (nationally) last season ... that's really exciting."
