Ahwatukee resident Hayden Innes, 13, earned a place in the European Golf Championship held by U.S. Kids Golf after being named player of the year on the Utah junior tour this summer.

Innes played in Edinburgh, Scotland, for three days with players from all over the world as 67 individuals came from Germany, the United Kingdom, Slovakia, South Africa, France, Ireland and other countries.

Innes, who will be an eighth-grader at Altadeña Middle School, spends most of his summer in Utah and had a good year on the course and found himself in Scotland June 5-8.
