Ahwatukee Foothills resident Chris Gallagher made the latest cut in his bid to be a member of the USA 14U national team.

More than 650 kids for three age groups (18U, 16U and 14U) were in Cary, N.C., for a four-day baseball extravaganza and Gallagher was selected to make the next round of play.

There is a camp in Peoria in June and then if selected another group heads back to Cary next summer to compete for the 14U team that will play in international competition.
