Soccer Club continuing tryouts

The Ahwatukee Foothills Soccer Club is having tryouts for the 2010-2011 season.

There are multiple tryout dates through May 22 at Pecos Park, 17010 S. 48th St.

The club will be fielding competitive teams ranging from Under 7 through under 18.

Tryout times, dates and online registration and information are available on the organization's website, http://www.afscsoccer.com.

The club is also conducting its 11th annual Summer Skills Academies June 7 through July 1 at the Desert Foothills Park, at Desert Foothills Parkway and Chandler Boulevard.

Advanced camps will be from July 12 through July 15 and again from July 19 through July 22.

Soccer camps scheduled

Callaghan's English Soccer camps will be returning to Ahwatukee Foothills for two sessions in June.

The camps for 5- through 18-year-olds will be from 8 to 10:15 a.m. June 7 through June 11 and June 14 through June 18 at Desert Foothills Park, Desert Foothills Parkway and Chandler Boulevard.

The camp fee is $120 per player or $200 for both weeks and will feature English, European and United State Soccer Federation ‘A' licensed coaches.

Campers should bring water, shin guards and sun screen.
